A Survey of Sign Tests Based on the Binomial Distribution

Summary: A detailed discussion of the classical sign test is given. Assumptions and conditions of use are described and illustrated for fixed sample sizes. The relationship of this to other (frequently, but not always) more powerful tests of the same or similar hypotheses is emphasized. A table of critical values for evaluating significance and setting confidence limits is included.
