Column: Reviews of Standards and Specifications: MIL-STD-105D and the Japanese Modified Standard

Summary: MIL-STD-105D switches too frequently to tightened and reduced inspection when producers are just meeting the acceptable quality levels (AQL's). The MIL Study Group of the Japanese Standards Association suggests three slight corrective actions. Otherwise, MIL-STD-105D stands intensive scrutiny well.
