Identifying Useful Differences in a Multiple-Head Machine

Summary: Many industrial processes include a circular multiple-head machine which runs continuously and which permits a variety of adjustments to the parts of the machine. This paper illustrates several methods for investigating various types of differences by examining filling weight data from a machine which has 24 heads. Differences in both the average and variation of filling weights are identified.
