A Simplified Markov Chain Analysis of ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 Used Without Limit Numbers

Summary: An explanation is provided of how to use simplified Markov chain methods to analyze sampling plans. It contains a brief description of the concepts of Markov chains and then uses the simplified procedure to analyze ANSI/ASQC Z1.4, "Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes" for the case when the limit numbers for switching from normal to reduced inspection are not used. This procedure proposed in this paper is simpler and easier to use than the usual Markov chain methods for analyzing the above cited sampling plans.
