Computer Programs -- Evaluation of Run Length Distribution for X Charts with Unknown Variance

Summary: A C program for the computation of the run length distribution and average run length of X chart with unknown process variance is presented. The integrals for the run length distribution and average run length are computed numerically using Gaussian quadrature and Gauss-Laguerre weighting functions. The program also gives the run length distribution and average run length of X charts with control limits based on a method presented by Hillier for the unknown variance case.
