Dual Response Optimization via Direct Function Minimization

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract. Methods of solving Taguchi's three dual response problems without resorting to signal-to-noise ratios are discussed. Using the Nelder-Mead simplex procedure, it is shown that direct function minimization is an effective approach. Examples of each type of dual response problem are presented.
