On Pesotchinsky's Scheme for Very Low Fraction Nonconforming

Summary: For production processes involving very low fraction nonconforming. Pesotchinsky devised a scheme that includes both the strategies of 100% inspection of the units and sampling inspection of lots formed together with certain criteria for switching between the strategies. Using a Markov chain formulation, we provide a description of the scheme and formulae for accurately deriving performance measures, including the average outgoing quality and the average fraction inspected. We also provide corrected tables for the selected schemes considered by Pesotchinsky.
