Multiresponse Robust Design: A General Framework Based on Combined Array

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] A general framework for robust design is proposed for use when multiple responses are obtained through a combined array. The framework integrates both parameter and tolerance design. The optimization criterion is based on a single value in terms of quadratic loss function and incorporates relevant statistical and economic information. The framework is demonstrated in the design of the elastic element of a force transducer.
