Establishing Multivariate Specification Regions for Incoming Materials

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] A methodology using multivariate PLS regression models is proposed for establishing meaningful multivariate specification regions on materials or components entering a facility. These specification regions are simple to implement and can help determine what constitutes acceptable material. The approach is used to establish multivariate specification regions for polymer resin properties in an industrial film process.
