Run-Length Performance of Regression Control Charts with Estimated Parameters

Summary: This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] When the output characteristic of interest in process monitoring is affected by an external covariate, the regression control chart can be an effective tool in removing the influence of the covariate and applying a regular control scheme to the regression residual. It is not well understood, however, how the regression control chart performs when the true parameters are replaced with their estimates. A Shewhart control chart and an exponentially weighted moving average control chart are considered for regression residuals.
