Process Qualification

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]A practical approach to process qualification is presented based on estimating the impact on the fraction nonconforming and the sensitivity of the nonconformance rate to changes in the mean or standard deviation of the process. The methodology makes assumptions regarding the magnitude of the changes in the process parameters, and then computes the effect of the changes on the nonconformance probability and its variability. The process is considered robust if the impact is within certain limits.
