Increasing the Sensitivity of Control Chart for Fraction Nonconforming

Summary: [This abstract is based on the author's abstract.]A method is discussed for increasing the sensitivity of the p chart by incorporating runs rules and for calculating the exact control limits for these schemes. The average run length value may then be determined, based on a standard or known predefined proportion of nonconforming items. Examples are given to illustrate the application of the procedures discussed.
