A Performance Analysis of Hotelling's X(2)Control Chart with Supplementary Runs Rules
Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] While the simplicity of Hotelling's control chart encourages its use for controlling related characteristics of a process, it is less effective when detecting small or moderate process shifts. Application of supplementary runs rules to the control chart results in improvement in average run lengths and frequency of runs rules appearance.
