Design and Analysis of Storing Experiments: A Case Study

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] A multistage production development project on low-fat mayonnaise is described. A pilot plant study of all stages of the production process was undertaken using three alternative empirical modeling approaches to analyze data. A combination of graphical analysis and the robust approach produced information relevant to business decisions, while the mixed model analysis might be useful to an experienced practitioner for deeper understanding of the data.
