Improving Process Capability of Manufacturing Process by Application of Statistical Techniques

Summary: [This abstract is based on the author's abstract.]The application of statistical methods is demonstrated in the solution of a problem of high rejection and rework due to variation in the machining process. Pareto analysis of shop floor rejections permitted prioritization of problems from different sources. The application of several statistical techniques, including design of experiments, dramatically improved the process capability.
