Analysis of Ordered Categorical Data Using Expected Loss Minimization

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]Two techniques for data analysis in robust design processes used for quality improvement of processes or products are the S/N ratio technique and Taguchi's accumulation analysis, developed for the study of ordered categorical data. Current techniques are investigated, and a new method is developed that is more accurate than existing methods. The new method and other methods are compared in the solution of an example from the literature.
