Summary: [This abstract is based on the author's abstract.]For nanoelectronics to realize its potential to revolutionize the electronics industry, product quality must be kept at levels previously unattainable. A system dynamics approach is used to examine available measurement and control techniques for applicability. Not only is it necessary to change the way tools are used and results are interpreted, but a new family of instrumentation will have to be developed that will allow real-time feedback and nearly instantaneous correction to process elements.
