Organizational Quality Management in Emerging Economies

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] Quality management initiatives in organizations in India are explored. The focus of the study is on the relationships between managerial hierarchy, organizational form, quality performance, and managerial perceptions of quality practices. Results indicate top managers are more optimistic on the extent of Total Quality Management implementation than middle or junior managers. Additionally, private sector managers have a more positive outlook than their counterparts in the public sector. An appendix provides a questionnaire used in the study.
