Cost vs. Quality Requirements: Conflict Analysis and Negotiation Aids

Summary: [This abstract is based on the editor's abstract.] The resolution of conflicts among software quality requirements is complicated by incompatibilities among stakeholder's interests and priorities, complex cost-quality requirement dependencies, and increasing resolution option space for larger systems. An exploratory knowledge-based tool, the software cost option strategy tool (S-COST), is described. Initial analysis of its semi-automated approach provides users with improved capabilities for addressing cost-quality requirements issues.
