The ISBSG Software Project Repository: An Analysis From the ISO 9126 Quality Perspective

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]The International Software Benchmarking Standards Group (ISBSG) provides a repository of more than 3000 software projects that have been used mostly for benchmarking and estimating project effort. This article investigates the extent to which this repository can be of use for benchmarking software product quality characteristics on the basis of ISO 9126. In addition, a subset of quality-related data fields available from the ISBSG is described and its use for quality analysis is illustrated. More examples may be found in the online version of SQP.
