Analyzing Unreplicated Blocked or Split-Plot Fractional Factorial Designs

In many industrial situations, sacrificing experimental replication for run size can present serious problems in the analysis. Additional limitations are placed on the experiment due to the cost or inability of completely randomizing the run order. When this occurs in blocked fractional factorial experiments or in fractional factorial split-plot designs, two existing methods of analysis for completely randomized experiments may be extended to handle the restricted randomization. The performance of these methods on industrial example is evaluated through simulation.
