Selecting Tools for Software Quality Management

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] Some international evaluation models for software quality focus on product quality, while others focus on process quality. Tools are available that permit software quality management from different points of view. A set of metrics is proposed to support the selection of tools for software quality management. The feature analysis case study evaluation method was used as a framework, selected by applying the DESMET method. The features were applied to nine software tools readily available in the marketplace. The resulting set of features assures the selection of a tool that is best suited for the specific needs of the organization.
