SREMS: System Reliability Using Monte Carlo Simulation with VBA and Excel

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] Visual Basics for Applications (VBA) and Excel are used to study complex systems reliability via Monte Carlo simulations. VBA subroutines form a program called SREMS, which when run under Excel spreadsheets can be applied to estimate reliability in a large range of different complex systems. SREMS is also able to calculate descriptive statistics about system failure times. Two cases illustrate the quality of the estimation.
