Modeling Data from Computer Experiments: An Empirical Comparison of Kriging with MARS and Projection Pursuit Regression

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] Data from computer experiments are analyzed using three methods of nonparametric smoothing. Results show that kriging is a better performer than either multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) or projection pursuit regression (PPR).
