A New Multivariate Process Capability Vector

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] There has been little research devoted to process capability indices for processes with multiple quality characteristics. This research discusses the concept of process capability and its relevant indices in univariate and multivariate cases and introduces a new multivariate process capability vector (NMVCP) based on the modification of the traditional multivariate process capability indices. The value and power of the new index are evaluated using field and simulated data. When characteristics are highly correlated, results show that NMVCP is a valuable tool for determining process accuracy, precision, and performance.
