Monitoring the Slopes of Linear Profiles

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] A Shewhart-type control chart is proposed for monitoring slopes of linear profiles. The performance of the chart in Phase I is demonstrated using both real-life and simulated data. In Phase II application, the proposed chart has an advantage over a T² chart in that the average run length depends on the shifts of slopes without requiring the correlation between the estimated slope and the intercept.
