A Comparison of Maximum Likelihood and Median-Rank Regression for Weibull Estimation

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] Many different methods have been proposed for inferring parameters and important functions for Weibull distributions, which are a common component of reliability determinations. This study compares the common methods and examines the reasons for ambiguity in previous studies. Statistical theory should guide the selection of inference method, either through analysis or modeling depending on the circumstances.
