Summary: [This abstract is based on the author's abstract.] Experience shows that there are typically three to six key variables in a formulation system. By identifying these variables, one can better control and optimize a process. This suggests that analysis of formulation studies should focus on finding these critical components driving product formulation performance. Several examples demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.
