Impact of Quality Management on Hospital Performance: An Empirical Investigation

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] Prior research is ambiguous on the impact of quality management practices on health care performance. This research helps clarify the definition of quality management by splitting it into two components: quality process and quality context. Analysis shows that focusing solely on quality process can lead to negative performance outcomes. Addressing both the quality process and the quality context is necessary for quality management to positively impact health care performance.
