Summary: Progressive Healthcare, a large multi-specialty group practice, made a decision to use lean thinking to improve their primary care delivery process. Lean thinking, developed in the Toyota production line, focuses on removing waste from work or processes. While it has long been in use in the automotive industry, it is new to service and health care industries.
