Summary: The author’s company cannot afford expensive initiatives to change corporate culture. The author decided instead to give appreciation to a knowledgeable employee with words of praise and an inexpensive gift. He also began taking fellow employees out for coffee, taking the time to thank them for their efforts and talking with them whimsically about ways to improve the company.
