Celebrating Teamwork

Summary: This article describes the International Team Excellence Award (ITEA) Process, which has been helping organizations enhance the use of teams to solve important problems since 1985. The process is built on a generalized problem-solving model that connects effectively with commonly practiced methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma and plan-do-check-act (PDCA). Each year, the ITEA committee continuously improves the criteria, as appropriate to keep it up to date and wholly applicable to organizations of all kinds. This is an open access article.
