What Was the Point? Meaning Flowing From Disruption

Summary: During times of drastic change or crisis, people are quick to ask themselves what was the point to everything they had done before. When all of their hard work seemingly goes to waste, they can be left feeling disappointed or depressed. However, with a shift in mindset, an individual can find meaning not from the work they do, but from the reason why they do that work. The values they admire and hold should carry meaning to everything they do, even if their work gets washed away in a wave of change in an organization or in employment status. Organizations can do their part to facilitate this mindset shift by honoring the individual spirits of those they employ, and not just thinking of their employees as assets or statistics.
