Guest Editorial: A Higher-Order Organizational Purpose

Summary: This article explores the question of whether or how Six Sigma innovation and design (SSID) strategies and tactics may enable higher-order organizational purposes such as sustainable enterprise excellence (SEE), resilience, robustness, and resplendence. Definitions of resilience, robustness, and resplendence show how these concepts can be regarded as cogenerates of SEE. Linking Six Sigma innovation and design to enterprise strategy and triple top-line strategy is more likely to enable triple bottom-line performance that is central to SEE.
