Taking Stock

Summary: An Italian espresso machine manufacturer, in business since 1902, took on a lean Six Sigma project to evaluate all business processes. The evaluation took all steps of the process into account, from planning to delivery of the machines to the company's customers. This project highlighted several areas where the company could improve and streamline processes, and led to the adoption of new workflows and ways to maintain the new systems. The difference in productivity and overall customer satisfaction was obvious, and led to a more stable system for developing and delivering the espresso machines.
