An Efficient Variable Selection Approach for Analyzing Designed Experiments

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] An efficient variable selection strategy is proposed to address the unique challenges encountered in the analysis of experiments in which numerous potential variables are examined. The proposed methods are based on the least angle regression (LARS) algorithm. The models can be rapidly computed and are able to identify sparse models that are more appropriate to the goals of the experiments. The applicability of the proposed models is illustrated by simulations and real examples.
