Nonregular Designs With Desirable Projection Properties

Summary: ´╗┐[This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] Estimating the main effects and two-factor interactions is often the focus of industrial experiments. In this study, two-level orthogonal designs are ranked based on the number of estimable models containing a subset of main effects and their associated two-factor interactions, allowing the experimenter to assess the appropriateness of the plan. The new criterion is applied to the class of all nonisomorphic two-level orthogonal designs with 16 and 20 runs, and an algorithm is introduced that will aid in finding designs with larger run sizes. Catalogs of designs with 16, 20, 24, and 28 runs are provided.
