Optimal Compound Orthogonal Arrays and Single Arrays for Robust Parameter Design Experiments

Summary: [[This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] In addition to Taguchi's inner-outer arrays, compound orthogonal arrays (COAs) and single arrays may be used for robust parameter design experiments. A criterion based on the wordtype pattern and strength of COAs is proposed to select optimal COAs. Single arrays, classified as prodigal single arrays (PSAs) or economical single arrays (ESAs), are similarly selected for optimality based on the wordtype pattern. Useful optimal COAs, PSAs, and ESAs are constructed and tabulated as references for experimenters.
