Gaussian Process Models for Computer Experiments With Qualitative and Quantitative Factors

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] A framework is proposed for building Gaussian process models for computer modeling that incorporate both qualitative and quantitative factors. The new models use an approach for constructing correlation functions that use both factors. An iterative estimation procedure is developed, and the method is illustrated with an example for modeling the thermal distribution of a data center.
