Inference Under Progressively Type II Right-Censored Sampling for Certain Lifetime Distributions

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] This article studies the estimation of the parameters of one family of two-parameter proportional hazard distributions including the Weibull, Gompertz and Lomax distributions. Inverse estimation is examined as an estimation method for both parameters. The methodology produces exact confidence intervals for one parameter, independent of the value of the other parameter, for which general confidence intervals are produced. The accuracy of these confidence intervals is demonstrated through a simulation concentrating mainly on the Weibull distribution, and a numerical example illustrates the procedures.
