A Least Angle Regression Control Chart for Multidimensional Data

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] This article discusses combining a variable selection method with a multivariate control chart to detect changes in mean and variability of a multidimensional process with Gaussian errors. A Phase II monitoring control chart is developed which integrates the least angle regression algorithm and a multivariate exponentially weighted moving average. The proposed method is compared with existing multivariate process control schemes to demonstrate its utility in a wide variety of applications.
