Bayesian Scale Space Analysis of Differences in Images

Summary: This article discusses a technique for the detection of image features at different spatial scales, particularly capturing the scale-dependent differences in a pair of images with significant noise. The technique combines Bayesian statistical modeling and simulation-based inference. It can be considered a development of the SiZer technology developed for nonparametric curve fitting. Examples are presented using both artificial test images and actual Landsat images.
